Thanks to my daughter, who planted the rest of the roses last week, I was able to get the rest of the drip system set up, mulch the rose beds, and get the electric fence set up on the back.
The electric fence is to keep our lab, Toby, from playing with the drip system. When we first got him, he thoroughly trashed the drip system, tearing up the drip lines. He thought it was great fun!!! And it looked like it too!! Then the fire happened, so we didn't get around to replacing anything while the construction was going on. The electric fence seems to be working very well, and we might even be able to turn it off once he's conditioned to leave the roses and drip system alone.
It was very cold this weekend, getting down to freezing temperatures. It was nice to be in our well-insulated and heated home!
