This is bare-root planting season, and last weekend I planted 11 roses. I've got another dozen bushes to plant! I'm also redoing the drip system, which needed replacing anyways. I'm replacing the roses that got trampled by the stucco contractors. They will look great this Spring!
With my family's help (especially my daughter who's home on Xmas break from college) we also are painting our house. We got tired of looking at the two-toned effect that the stucco people left on our house! It really looks great now. Of the whole rebuilding process from the fire, I think the stucco job is probably the worst done. It's not real bad, just bad enough to be irritating, so we are just fixing the defects for now. Maybe in a few years we'll have the stucco redone correctly.
