Well, we found out this week that the Scripps transplant center is "out of network" for our insurance plan (Aetna HMO). So my oncologist has to refer me to the UCSD transplant center, since they are the only ones "in network" for my insurance. UCSD has a huge program and I'm sure I'll get good care, it's just the hassle of dealing with yet another medical bureaucracy. It will push the timeline back a bit. My appointment with the UCSD doctor isn't until March 5.
So, prayers are appreciated, especially for patience and courage on our part, and that the lymphoma not come back while I'm in the process of getting the stem cell transplant.
