Well, I had a pretty good week. My body tolerated the ICE chemo fairly well. I was a bit low energy Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, but then my energy levels came back up the rest of the week.
I went into Scripps for a follow up CBC Thursday morning. The doctor said the levels looked good, they were low, but higher than when I left the hospital.
Friday the effects of the Neulasta really hit me hard. Fortunately I had some darvocet to help me over the worse parts. Even on darvocet my hips joints were aching like I had arthritis in them!! This morning I woke up feeling a bit better. The bone pain is only in a few spots and only lasts a few seconds, so I haven't felt I needed to use darvocet today.
The plan for next week is I'll go in for another CBC lab Thursday. If the counts are high enough they will probably admit me Friday to have ICE over the weekend. If they aren't quite high enough, then they'll probably have me come in on Monday for the chemo.
As soon as I finish my second course of ICE, then it's back to UCSD to have them schedule me for the BMT. Timing is variable depending on what Dr. Ball wants to do. He might have me get a CT/Pet scans, then decide on the timing. We'll just have to wait and see.
Hope all of you are having a blessed Easter weekend. Our family certainly has a lot to be thankful for.
Soli Deo Gloria!!
